Summer Transportation Institute at Lincoln and Cheyney Universities The Summer Transportation Institutes at Lincoln University (LUSTI) and Cheyney University (CUSTI) are two separate four-week programs that introduce students from Pennsylvania and neighboring states to the transportation industry. It is an educational initiative that involves a partnership between the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) Division Office in the state, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (Penn DOT), private corporations, and Lincoln and Cheyney Universities. LUSTI and CUSTI offer participants early exposure to career alternatives in transportation and opportunities to engage in activities that are both educational and recreational. LUSTI and CUSTI offer students who have a strong interest in science, mathematics, and technology an opportunity to learn about the many aspects of the transportation industry.
